Remote Work Sundays Will Continue Through June 2026
Now, the move is part of a broader effort to modernize work patterns across state institutions.
The Egyptian Cabinet has approved the extension of the decision mandating remote work every Sunday for government institutions and eligible private institutions. The measure, originally introduced under Cabinet Decision No. 982 of 2026, will remain in effect throughout June.
The policy was originally introduced in April 2026 as part of a broader set of measures aimed at reducing energy consumption amid rising global energy prices linked to ongoing regional conflict. Now, the move is part of a broader effort to modernize work patterns across state institutions, striking a balance between operational demands and improved productivity.
